What would be possible if we leveraged the intelligence and creative talent of people from an early age?

We could create the most powerful and innovative work force in the world!

About DEILAB

DEILAB (pronounced day-lab) has a mission to change children’s perceptions about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math to prepare them for technological advances in the next century. Our purpose is simple; to provide a STEM education track that inspires students from Pre-Kindergarten into Careers.

DEILAB teaches the “why” of the build and the “how” of innovation.

We develop lesson plans accessible to every level of learner and instructor experience to teach a wide variety of students in a diverse set of educational settings. Whether in school or a corporate setting, we help participants understand problems and develop solutions that are empathetic, results-oriented, designed and led by a multicultural team of professionals who provide a broad and layered perspective to the work.

“One of our missions is to change the world through the power of a person’s imagination.”

-Aron Lee

Nurturing Communities

The innovation concepts of thinking without borders, taking risks, rapid prototyping and solution diversity are often part of the natural life cycle of people required to innovate in order to exist and achieve.

People of under-resourced communities live these principles everyday without realizing the connection to STEM concepts; and so are more in need of learning the formalized language of the skills they’ve already mastered!

DEILAB creates hands-on activities, innovation laboratories, design and robotics challenges, and field trips that translate these concepts into the procedure of design and engineering.

Our hope is to form new experiences and create significant differences in people’s attitudes about STEM, lives and future opportunities!

DEILAB currently works with students in the Washington DC Metro, Boston, Baltimore and New Jersey areas.

DEILAB worked with my math and science teaching staff using LEGO robotics as a way to inspire my teachers and infuse the safe boundaries of failure within their classrooms in order to build exciting learning experiences. This training was one of the factors that I credit for our increase of our math and science test scores in 2014/2015 school year.“

“The DEILAB training helped our teachers learn the importance of developing higher level thinking and analytical skills in students as well as the importance of learning through failure!!! Many teachers expressed that this training was the best professional development they had ever received because it empowered them to teach STEM in a way that engaged and increased the interest in STEM for their students.”

The Right Amount of Wrong: The Art of Innovation

DEILAB Founder Aron ‘Teo' Lee, discusses how creativity happens and how we can develop our understanding of innovation. He suggests ways we can calibrate our innovation and define the right amount of wrong.
